Little Presque Isle feels like one of the Upper Peninsula’s best-kept secrets. I just love the rocky shoreline, tall pines, and open views of Lake Superior. It really gives you this setting that feels wild and tucked away. It was the perfect place for Brittany and Caleb to explore and let their engagement photos just unfold.
For their ittle Presque Isle engagement photos (and most of my sessions) we blended digital and film photography. This gave the full gallery an editorial feel while still holding onto the in-between moments that made it theirs. Just the two of them laughing, climbing over rocks, and just enjoying the time they got to spend together.

Film is one of my favorite ways to photograph a place like Little Presque Isle because it lets the landscape feel a little softer. The greens shift and the light gets hazy. These ended up being some of my favorite photos from Brittany and Caleb’s session because they feel playful and imperfect in the best way. They still have an editorial quality, but they also feel completely like them.

Brittany and Caleb did such a good job choosing outfits that coordinated with each other and the natural colors around them without feeling overly matched. Little Presque Isle was so quiet that evening, with nothing more than the sound of Lake Superior rolling into the shoreline and over the rocks.
I always love coming up here. Between these Little Presque Isle engagement photos and another session I photographed at Black Rocks in Marquette, I’m continually reminded that you really can’t beat the beauty of the Upper Peninsula!
