Dreamy Fisher Building & Downtown Detroit Elopement

Home » Blog » Dreamy Fisher Building & Downtown Detroit Elopement

Emily and Andrew’s Fisher Building elopement was perfection. We started inside the iconic Detroit landmark, then made our way onto the People Mover and through the city for an elopement that felt so fun and easy. They were just two cool cats eloping in downtown Detroit. They even brought Nerd Clusters for me (instant besties), so it only felt right to have in some of their photos.

Days like this are exactly why I love downtown Detroit elopements so much, and honestly, elopements in general. And like a lot of my sessions, I captured this day on a mix of digital and film. You can see the film photos towards the end of the blog!

A Dreamy Fisher Building Elopement With Emily & Andrew

Obsessed with days like this. I love capturing elopements and intimate weddings because they give you the space to just be. There’s no rush or pressure, just the two of you taking it all in together. A Fisher Building elopement is especially beautiful for that reason. Everywhere you turn, there’s something stunning. The warm marble, glowing lights, and details of the building make everything feel a little more cinematic.

Emily’s dress was so beautiful and flowy. It added the best movement to their photos, and her bouquet by River Daughter Floral was just the cherry on top. We made full use of the building, moving from one spot to the next because honestly, there isn’t a bad angle here. It all came together beautifully and felt so dreamy and editorial.

Downtown Detroit Elopement Photos on the People Mover

I love incorporating the People Mover into a downtown Detroit elopement. It adds so much variety to your gallery and brings in a completely different perspective of the city. Beyond just photos downtown, it really helps capture the heart of a downtown Detroit elopement in a way that feels true to the experience. We had the most beautiful light pouring in through the windows, which made everything feel warm and cinematic.

And of course, we had to include Emily and Andrew sharing Nerd Clusters (their favorite). It really added such a fun, personal touch to their photos. It’s little moments like that that make your gallery feel like you. If you love this idea, you can also check out this Editorial Detroit Elopement where another couple included the People Mover as part of their day too!

Some Film Photos From Emily & Andrew’s Day

Of course I can’t share their day without including some shots on film. Throughout their session, I’d pull out my film camera and capture a few moments along the way, and they turned out so beautiful.

If you’re thinking about adding it to your own day, you can read more here: Why You Should Add Film Wedding Photography to Your Day.
