Downtown Detroit made for the perfect location for their session. I love Detroit because there is so much opportunity to get different backdrops and looks for your engagement session. From the beauty of the downtown area, Z Lot, and hitting up The Belt – it was such a blast!

Many Detroit locals know of The Belt, but if you aren’t familiar, it’s this beautiful alley in the heart of downtown Detroit that’s filled with tons of art from more than a dozen of artists! Talk about the perfect backdrop for a fun engagement session! We especially loved the flowers hanging from overhead.

City Views in Detroit With Emah + Sam Up on Z Lot

Another location that’s always fun to hit up with my clients for their downtown Detroit engagement photos is Z Lot. It’s not just any ordinary parking garage either. While Z Lot offers stunning views of Detroit, there’s also beautiful artwork all around.

So, if you want to add in some creative backdrops and color to your session or if you’re looking for cityscape views in Detroit and want those playful rooftop vibes, then I definitely recommend checking out Z Lot when planning for your downtown Detroit engagement photos!

Finishing Up With an Outfit Change & Roaming Downtown Detroit

After checking out The Belt and Z Lot, Emah and Sam did an outfit change and their outfits were perfect! I loved how they did a more casual look for part of the session and then they changed into more formal attire.

Emah looked stunning in her form fitting white dress with her heels that had the cutest bow detail on the ankles! Sam kept it simple and the entire look felt classic and timeless – the perfect way to end their downtown engagement session in Detroit!
