I drive by this location all the time, and I loved the yellow and red colors —I dreamt of doing a shoot here. I wanted to play with posing for this one and have some fun. In my heart, I knew this spot would be perfect for some Midwest grunge engagement photos in Detroit, so that’s exactly what we did! Brittany and Alex were up for anything and their session was so much fun!

One thing I wish for all of my couples who get in front of the camera is to feel GOOD, but also to play around a bit, and not take themselves too seriously. I want them to let go and forget about things during our session. In my opinion, that’s what brings out the best photos—I want my couples to feel comfortable and laid-back.

I had so much fun with Brittany and Alex for their engagement photos in Detroit. It was perfect: laid-back, fun, and we got to play around with some different poses. The yellow and red colors of the building really made their photos pop.
