Matt and Brenna had such an artsy and whimsical Stony Creek Metropark wedding in Detroit, followed by a very intimate wedding reception at Mabel Gray. I loved that this wedding day had so many candid moments that made their day. As a documentary Michigan wedding photographer, these are the types of moments I love to capture!
Getting Ready & First Looks Before For Their Stony Creek MetroPark Wedding in Detroit, Michigan
To start the day, Brenna and Matt got ready with their wedding parties separately. They then shared a first look together before their Stony Creek Metropark wedding ceremony, and they couldn’t help but get a little emotional. We followed with some portraits of the two and also knocked out some wedding party photos as well.
I loved both of their looks for the day. Brenna wore a whimsical white fitted dress from Sarah Seven with off-the-shoulder sleeves, a long veil, and round sunglasses. Matt’s look felt so vintage-inspired and eclectic with his brown suit and patterned green tie from Dandy Detroit!
Matt & Brenna’s Portraits & Wedding Party Photos
After their first look, we followed with portraits of the two and then photos with their entire wedding party. Their earthy, neutral color scheme perfectly complemented the outdoor setting for their Stony Creek Metropark wedding. The bridesmaids wore various shades of green, while the groomsmen wore a mix of brown and green suits.
Whimsical Stony Creek MetroPark Wedding Ceremony in Detroit
I loved Matt and Brenna’s ceremony location. It felt so whimsical and just fit them perfectly. Can you get anymore romantic than a woodsy wedding with towering trees surrounding you? And even more than that, I just love Matt and Brenna’s love. They are all about each other, and it truly shows in their day. There are SO many sweet little moments shared between them, and it was so special to be the one trusted to capture them all.
I think this ceremony is also a great example for couples who may be afraid to do the first look. Matt and Brenna did share a first look prior to their wedding ceremony, yet Matt was obviously still so emotional seeing Brenna walk down the aisle towards him!
An Artsy Detroit Wedding Reception at Mabel Grey
Matt and Brenna’s Detroit wedding reception at Mabel Gray was so intimate and just perfect. There were such heartfelt wedding speeches, and they had delicious desserts from Sister Pie! They also had the most beautiful florals by Studio Wilde Floral all throughout their wedding.
One thing I can certainly say is these two and their closest friends and family definitely know how to celebrate and have a good time! Overall, their Detroit wedding was beautiful, artsy, and full of such candid and intimate moments. It was such an honor to be their Detroit wedding photographer!
