Olivia and Nick’s Detroit wedding at Fox Hills Golf Course was such a beautiful reminder to let go of what you can’t control and just live in the moment. The forecast called for rain, and these two fully embraced it—Olivia’s smile never faded for a second. They laughed, they danced, they soaked it all in (literally!) and made the absolute most of their day.

Liv and Nick were totally my kind of couple—the kind who roll with whatever comes their way and keeps the good vibes going strong. The love they share was so evident, and you could just feel how thrilled they were to be surrounded by their favorite people and finally say “I do.”

The Details & Getting Ready

The morning started off slow and sweet, with Olivia and Nick getting ready separately. It had such a relaxed, fun vibe—exactly how a wedding morning should feel. I have to say, I was obsessed with Olivia’s bridesmaids’ looks. They all wore different styles, but the same emerald green shade that tied everything together so beautifully. It was the perfect choice for a cozy Michigan fall wedding.

Nick and his guys kept it timeless with black suits, with Nick wearing a tan tie while his groomsmen rocked emerald ties to match the bridesmaids. It all looked so cohesive and intentional without feeling overly matchy.

First Looks & Portraits at Fox Hills Golf Club – a greater detroit wedding venue

Olivia and Nick shared their first look just outside of Fox Hills Golf Club, and yes, it was raining. But instead of stressing, they embraced it with the biggest smiles and the cutest clear umbrellas. They make the dreamiest photo props when rain makes a surprise appearance! Their energy was unmatched, and the excitement between them never wavered for a second.

And don’t even get me started on their bridal party—they understood the assignment. Liv’s bridesmaids brought the hype and then some. At one point, they even joked about being “ghouls in a swamp” and had everyone cracking up. Such a core memory moment! Also, major shoutout to Studio FRWD for hair and makeup magic. Even with the misty rain in the air all day long, every single one of the gals looked absolutely stunning!

Rainy Outdoor Greater Detroit Wedding Ceremony at Fox Hills Golf Club

Liv and Nick’s outdoor ceremony might’ve come with a side of rain, but you wouldn’t have known it by looking at their or any of their guests faces! The whole crew was all smiles, ready to celebrate these two. They said “I do” under the pergola ceremony space at Fox Hills, perfectly tucked beneath a beautiful cottonwood tree. Add in the prettiest florals and a few pumpkins, and it was the coziest fall wedding setup.

Watching Nick’s face light up as Olivia walked down the aisle was so sweet and she was beaming right back at him. They were so excited, so in love, and fully in the moment. The rain didn’t stand a chance against their energy. They were just so happy to be getting married, and their joy was honestly contagious for everyone else, too.

Fox Hills Golf Club Wedding Reception in The Summerhouse

Olivia and Nick’s reception at the Summerhouse at Fox Hills Golf Club was the perfect mix of cozy, romantic, and just plain fun. The open-air pavilion with string lights and wood beams gave the whole evening a warm, inviting glow that made everyone feel right at home. Their tables were thoughtfully styled with pops of fall florals, candlelight, and personal touches that reflected their love story so beautifully.

Mid-reception, we snuck away for a few more portraits—and I’m so glad we did. The universe totally came through for golden hour! The sky turned this dreamy shade of soft pink, and it felt like pure magic. From their first dance under twinkling lights to cigars and laughter with their crew, this reception was full of joy, connection, and so much happiness! It truly was the best kind of celebration.
