Makenzie and Connor’s Midland engagement photos were so much fun, laid-back, and had a cinematic feel! When I asked them how we could make their photos feel like a fun date night, they suggested taking pictures in downtown Midland and around the local area—places where they spend a lot of time together. So, that’s exactly what we did! From engagement photos at The H Hotel to longboarding at a local parking garage, it was a fun time!

I met up with Makenzie and Connor at The H Hotel, located right in the heart of downtown Midland! It was the perfect spot to capture their Midland engagement photos, with a stunning building backdrop and beautiful greenery. Makenzie and Connor were full of laughter throughout the entire session! It was so fun and so sweet to see them happy and enjoying every moment.

After photos at The H Hotel, Connor and Makenzie got more casual in jeans and classic white tees. We had originally planned to head downtown and visit the nature center so they can longboard—something they love to do together. But when the weather took a turn, I suggested we try a nearby parking garage instead. Connor and Makenzie were even more excited about this idea than the nature center!

We ended up heading to the parking garage, blasting some Blink-182, and skated around! They said that it felt like ‘them’, and you could tell they were totally comfortable. I really saw their personalities shine through during this time. Sometimes you have to pivot during a session, and sometimes it ends up being even better than the original plan! Let this be your sign to make your engagement photos uniquely yours. Do what you love to do together and have fun with it!
