Erin and Mike’s Ann Arbor wedding and Venue by 4M reception was laid-back, colorful, and exactly what they envisioned for their special day. The day was filled with so much joy, love, and fun—what could be better than that? These two had a unique vision: to bring a modern, disco-infused atmosphere to their ceremony and reception venues—and they nailed it!

The Details, Getting Ready, & First Looks

Mike and Erin’s wedding day was designed to allow the couple to have a laid-back day to spend with all of their loved ones. Erin enjoyed spending time with friends off-site at an Airbnb, while Mike went golfing with friends that morning before they joined up for a first look at their home. By opting out of having a wedding party, they were able to include more friends into the fold and give everyone a relaxing day as well.

The ceremony and cocktail hour took place at the couple’s Ann Arbor home. Guests arrived early to enjoy welcome drinks from the Byrdie Bar trailer while mingling around the yard. Brightly colored linens and floral bud vases on cocktail tables set the tone for the day’s vibrant color scheme. The couple also set up a photo lounge for guests to enjoy.

As the ceremony began, Mike walked down the aisle with his grandmother, and Erin entered with her parents. Yellow and orange floral boxes lined the aisle, leading to a white stage with brightly colored wooden arches as the backdrop. Erin’s dad and a family friend built the floral boxes, and they were flowered by University Flower Shop.

A fun element to the couple’s ceremony involved the rings being taped in a ring bag underneath a random chair. When the officiant asked guests to check, the lucky guest who found them brought the rings up to the couple. It was so much fun watching everyone check their chairs!

A Colorful Ann Arbor Wedding Reception at Venue by 4M

Venue by 4M was transformed into the couple’s dream vision. From the stunning fringe ceiling installation by Modernly Events to the eclectic bud vases, floral boxes lining the tables, and motion graphic monograms on the TV’s—it was a showstopper! Watching guests arrive and take it all in was such a treat!

Venue by 4M pulled out all the stops for an amazing family-style dinner, complete with wine pairings for everyone. During the dessert course (brownie sundaes!), Erin and Mike’s friends shared fun and heartfelt toasts. The couple then opened the dance floor with their formal dances, and Luke Frutig of LuFru Entertainment kept it going all night! Under the dance floor lights, disco balls, and brightly colored fringe installation, the energy was electric!

Extra fun elements like late-night sliders, espresso martinis, Bon Bon Bon chocolates, and to-go floral bouquets sent guests off in-style. It was the perfect day, and every moment spent planning with these two was a highlight. But nothing topped seeing them live their best lives on this day!
