Brenna and Matt’s fall bookstore and Belle Isle engagement photos in Detroit were warm, cinematic, and full of so many candid moments. It was so much fun exploring different locations and capturing their sweet love. We visited John K. King Books, a well known bookstore here in Detroit, filled with rare and used books. It definitely had a charming atmosphere. Our second location, Belle Isle Park in Detroit, was perfect for capturing outdoor fall shots.
Matt & Brenna’s Bookstore Engagement Session at John K. King Books in Detroit, Michigan
Matt and Brenna’s engagement session started in the wildest way. We went to John K. King Books in Detroit, and as Matt, Brenna, and I were tuning into the parking lot, we saw John Mulaney at the front of the bookstore! He was getting into his car as we walked up, but it was such a wild way to start the day!
Once inside, we had so much capturing shots throughout the store. If you’re looking for fun and unique ideas for your Detroit engagement photos, I definitely recommend visiting a local bookstore. And if it’s during the fall season like Matt and Brenna’s, it provides a warm space to retreat to, so you don’t have to be outside the entire session!
Outdoor Fall Belle Isle Engagement Photos in Detroit, Michigan
After checking out the bookstore, we then headed over for their Belle Isle engagement photos. Belle Isle Park is a beautiful location, and we had so much fun capturing photos in all of it’s charming spots. The entire time I was capturing Brenna and Matt, I truly couldn’t help but wonder how two people can be so perfect together. And on top of that, they trust me to photograph their love? It’s wild!
After capturing portraits around the park, we moved to an open grassy area where we got artsy with chairs and lamps after sunset. I love when couples are up for something unique—you might get awesome shots like Brenna and Matt!
